MIG/MAG Welder
Metal Industry — Slavonski Brod, Croatia
P-213 · Functional (B1) · 4 openings
Steady welding work in a metal fabrication shop near Slavonski Brod, with pay that sits above the local rate. If you can lay a clean MIG/MAG bead and read a drawing, there is a bench waiting for you.
About role
You will weld steel structures and sub-assemblies using MIG/MAG (135/136) on plate and profile from roughly 3 to 12 mm. Most of the day is spent at a fixed welding station, tacking parts on a jig, then running the full seams once the fit-up checks out. You work from isometric drawings and weld symbols, so you need to know which joint gets a fillet and which gets a groove. Grinding back tacks, cleaning spatter and doing your own visual checks on penetration are part of the job, not someone else's. The shop runs two shifts, morning and afternoon, on a weekly rotation, with the odd Saturday when an order has to ship. Finished frames go on to blasting and paint, so weld quality is checked before anything leaves your bay.

Promotion terms
You start at 1550 EUR net while you learn the shop's parts and tolerances. Once your seams pass inspection consistently and you take on the harder jigs, pay moves up to 1800 EUR net. From there the next step is lead welder, signing off other people's work.
Work environment
The shop is a covered hall with overhead cranes, extraction arms at each station and steel coming in by truck most mornings. It gets warm in summer and loud near the cutting line, so ear and eye protection stay on. Floors are kept clear and the fume extraction is checked, but this is real fabrication, not a clean room.
