Maintenance Electrician

You work the planned maintenance list on the press lines, change contactors, sensors and motor cable, and log every intervention in the maintenance system. On a breakdown you isolate the machine, lock it off, trace the fault with a meter against the wiring diagram, and hand the machine back only after a function test with the operator. You also keep the emergency stops, light curtains and earth continuity checks up to date. Two shifts alternate weekly, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, with one week of on call in four.

Vocational certificate as an electrician and a valid low voltage authorisation

At least three years of industrial maintenance, not domestic installation

Reads a wiring diagram and a terminal list

Works confidently with a multimeter and a clamp meter

Basic reading of a PLC input and output list is an advantage

Accepts a two shift pattern and one week of on call in four

English at working level for manuals and supplier calls

Net salary from 1095 up to 1204 EUR per month

An electrician who takes on the PLC diagnostics work moves to the automation seat, which carries its own pay band. The plant pays for the Siemens course and the higher voltage authorisation.

Work is split between the machine hall, the switch room and the roof top compressor house, so some of it is outdoors in any weather. Arc rated clothing, insulated gloves, safety shoes and a helmet are supplied.
