CNC Machine Operator

You load the blank in the chuck or the vice, call up the stored programme, set the tool offsets and run the first piece slowly with the feed override in your hand. The first article is measured with a caliper, a micrometer and a bore gauge against the drawing, and the result goes on the measurement sheet before the batch is released. During the run you check every tenth piece, change inserts when the finish dulls and keep the coolant concentration in range. Two shifts alternate weekly, 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.

Vocational certificate in machining, toolmaking or mechanics

At least two years on a CNC lathe or milling machine

Reads a technical drawing with tolerances and surface symbols

Confident with a caliper, a micrometer and a bore gauge

Able to set tool offsets and edit a programme line at the control

Willing to alternate two shifts weekly

Basic English for the Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain menus

Net salary from 1095 up to 1204 EUR per month

An operator who starts writing and correcting programmes at the control moves to the setter seat, and from there to the programming desk. The works pays for the CAM course in Gyor.

A heated hall with enclosed machines, chip conveyors and a separate deburring corner. Safety shoes, glasses and cut resistant gloves for handling swarf are mandatory and supplied by the employer.
