CNC Machine Operator
Metal Industry · Turku, Finland
JB-984 · Basic (A2) · 5 openings
A machine shop in the Pansio industrial area of Turku is hiring CNC operators for turning and milling. The shop makes shafts, flanges and housings in batches of twenty to five hundred for marine and machine building customers. The contract is permanent and the programming training is given on the machine.
About role
You set the machine for the batch in front of you: loading the fixture, setting the tools and the offsets, running the first part and measuring it before the batch is released. During the run you change inserts when the surface tells you to, check every tenth part with a caliper and a micrometer against the drawing tolerance, and deburr and mark the finished pieces for the next station. You keep the coolant concentration in range, log the machine hours and hand over the tool wear notes at the shift change. Two shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 with a weekly rotation.
