Care Worker

You help residents wash, dress and move, serve and where needed assist with meals, and keep the rooms and the linen in order. You follow each resident's care plan, watch for changes in skin, appetite, mood and mobility and write what you saw in the care record at the end of the shift. Medicines are given by the nurse, and you report anything unusual straight away. Transfers are done with a hoist or with two staff, never alone. Shifts are twelve hours, day and night by roster, with the roster set a month ahead.

No formal care qualification required, training is paid for on the job

Net salary from 1030 up to 1170 EUR per month

Paid caregiver training towards the national qualification

Care workers who complete the national caregiver qualification move to a higher grade and can take charge of a wing on a shift. The home also supports studies towards nursing.

A renovated building with lifts, wide corridors, ceiling hoists in the heaviest rooms and a staff room on each floor. Gloves, aprons and a uniform are provided and vaccinations are offered free.
