CNC Lathe Operator

You set the machine for the next order: you load the program, mount the jaws and the tools, set the zero point and cut the first piece for measurement. The first piece goes to the inspection bench, and after it is signed off you run the batch and check the diameters with a caliper and a micrometer every ten pieces. Tool wear is written into the machine sheet. The shop works 08:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday, with the weekend free.

Trade school in machining or equal practice on a lathe

At least two years on a CNC or a conventional lathe

Reads a technical drawing with tolerances and surface marks

Confident with a caliper, a micrometer and a bore gauge

Able to edit a program at the control for a small correction

Basic English for the control menus and the tool catalogue

Net salary from 1150 up to 1265 EUR per month

Permanent contract with insurance from the first day

One day shift only, 08:00 to 17:00, weekend free

Paid overtime at the legal rate when an order is urgent

Work clothing, safety shoes, glasses and measuring tools

An operator who writes his own programs takes over the setting of the second lathe and the training of new starters. The shop pays for a programming course and for a measuring room course.

A machining hall with an oil mist extractor over each machine, an inspection bench with a granite plate and a separate washing area for finished parts. Safety shoes, glasses and work clothing are mandatory and are supplied.
