Painter and Decorator

You mask the floor and the fittings, fill cracks and holes, sand the surface and prime it, then roll two coats of dispersion paint on walls and ceilings. Stairwells take a wipe resistant coat up to the handrail line and a lacquer finish on the metalwork. You cut in by hand along frames and skirtings, keep the site tidy for the tenants and hand the flat over to the foreman with the surface dry and the masking removed. The day runs 07:00-15:30 from Monday to Friday.

Trade qualification as a painter or equal practice

At least two years on interior walls, ceilings and stairwells

Confident with filler, sanding machine, roller and brush

Able to read a works order and record the metres you painted

Head for heights for a rolling tower up to four metres

Basic German or English for tenants and for the daily order

Net salary from 2050 up to 2255 EUR per month

Painters who deliver clean edges and keep to the schedule take over a crew of three and the handover to the housing company, which is paid a grade higher.

Occupied and empty flats with water based dispersion paints, a dust extracted sanding machine and a rolling tower for stairwells. Mask, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
