Electrician

The workshop is in the Bahrenfeld commercial area in the west of the city, and the sites are apartment blocks and small commercial units all over town: new build, conversions and occupied buildings. You pull and terminate cable, fit sockets, switches and lighting, wire distribution boards to the circuit diagram and connect the electrical side of heat pumps. Fault finding in existing installations is part of the week, and so are the periodic safety tests under DGUV regulation 3, each one entered in the test record. Work runs in one day shift, Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00 and Friday 07:00-13:00. You report to the lead installer on site.

Completed training as an electrician for building installations, or a foreign qualification recognised as equivalent

At least two years on building sites, in new build or refurbishment

Able to read circuit diagrams and wire a distribution board without supervision

Confident with an installation tester and a two-pole voltage tester

Driving licence class B for the company van

Willing to work on changing sites within the city

English at B1 level, basic German for site instructions and the test record

Net salary from 2600 up to 2850 EUR per month

Permanent full time contract with full social insurance from the first day

After twelve months, electricians who run a site on their own and sign the test records under DGUV regulation 3 themselves move up to lead installer at 2850 EUR net a month.

Shell and fit out sites, plant rooms and occupied flats, indoors for most of the year. Insulated tools, safety shoes, a helmet and safety glasses are mandatory on every site and supplied by the employer.
