Kitchen Assistant

You run the dish machine, scrape and rack the plates, wash the pans by hand and keep clean crockery moving back to the pass. Between services you peel and cut vegetables to the prep list, portion salads, take deliveries in and date every container that goes into the fridge. At close you strip and clean the machine, mop the kitchen floor and take the waste out. The shift is 16:00-00:00, with a split shift on Sunday.

No qualification required, food hygiene training is given on site

Able to stand and work at pace for a full eight hour service

Clean and methodical with knives, boards and storage dates

Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

Keeps up when the kitchen sends sixty covers in an hour

Basic English or Greek for the prep list and the allergen chart

Residence and work authorisation for Greece, arranged before arrival

Net salary from 900 up to 990 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a three month trial period

Full EFKA insurance and the Greek fourteen salary year

Sunday and holiday supplements paid at the statutory rate

A staff meal on every worked shift, prepared by the kitchen

Paid food hygiene training and a health certificate

Jacket, apron, gloves and non slip shoes provided and laundered

An assistant who takes the cold station and holds it through a busy summer is moved to commis cook the following season, at the agreement rate for that grade. The group trains its cooks from the kitchen floor.

A hot kitchen with extraction over the range, rubber matting at the dish station and a walk in fridge two steps away. Non slip shoes, an apron and gloves for the dish machine chemicals are supplied by the employer.
