Delivery Driver

The shift starts at 07:00 at the depot, where you load the van against the manifest, check every barcode and sign for the cash on delivery consignments. You then run between sixty and ninety stops, scan each parcel at the door, take signatures on the terminal and collect payment where the label asks for it. Failed deliveries are rescheduled on the terminal before you leave the address. Back at the depot you unload the returns, reconcile the cash and hand in the keys.

Category B licence held for at least two years

Experience of city driving and of reading a route list

Able to lift parcels of up to 30 kg to a doorstep

Careful with cash on delivery amounts and receipts

Conversational English or Greek for customers at the door

Clean driving record, checked before the contract is signed

Residence and work authorisation for Greece, arranged before arrival

Net salary from 1100 up to 1210 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a three month trial period

Fuel card and tolls paid by the employer

The same van kept by the same driver, serviced by the depot

Paid training on the handheld terminal and on defensive driving

Work clothing, safety shoes and a rain jacket provided

A driver who knows the eastern Attica rounds can move to the long distance leg between Athens and the Peloponnese, which carries a route allowance. The employer pays for the category C licence after two years.

You work alone in the van for most of the day, with a supervisor reachable on the terminal. Loading is done under cover at the depot, and the van carries a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a load restraint bar.
