Kitchen Assistant

You prepare: vegetables washed, peeled and cut to the sheet, fish and meat portioned under the cook's instruction, stock rotated in the cold room and everything labelled with its date. During service you plate on the line and keep the hot cabinet stocked. Afterwards you run the dish wash, clean the floor, the extraction filters and the equipment, and take the bins out. You record fridge temperatures twice a day. The shift is 07:00-15:00 from Monday to Friday, with weekends free.

Basic schooling and the right to work in Portugal

Kitchen experience is welcome but training is given on the job

Steady knife work for peeling and cutting through a full morning

Able to stand and lift through the shift, including hot trays

Basic English for product labels and cleaning instructions

Net salary from 840 up to 924 EUR per month

Uniform, apron, hat and non slip shoes provided

Assistants who take the preparation sheet on their own move to third cook within a year, working the line under the head cook. The company pays the professional food handling certificate that step requires.

An industrial kitchen with extraction over the cooking line, two cold rooms, a preparation area kept apart from the wash and a tunnel dishwasher. Apron, hat, gloves and non slip shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
