Production Operator

You take the station at the start of the shift, read the work instruction for the part running that day, and assemble to the fixed cycle time the line sets. You check each piece against the sample board, put a reject in the red bin and write the reason on the tally, and call the setter when three pieces fail in a row. Finished parts go into the customer packaging to the count on the label. You record your output and your downtime on the shift sheet. The three shifts run 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00 with a weekly rotation.

An operator who learns the visual check and the reject codes moves to the quality station, which pays above line work, and the plant fills its team leader posts from the lines.

A lit assembly hall at a steady temperature, with anti fatigue mats at every station, guards on the moving parts and a canteen next to the changing rooms. Gloves, ear protection and safety shoes are supplied.
