An engineering works in the Bolevec zone in Plzen is hiring metal locksmiths for assembly and steel structure work. The shop builds frames, guards and conveyor sections for plants in west Bohemia and in Bavaria. The contract is permanent and the shift pattern is single days.
About role
You read the assembly drawing, mark out and cut profiles to length, drill and ream the holes and bolt the frame together to the given torque. Parts that need a weld are tacked and handed to the welder, then checked back for squareness with a square and a diagonal measurement. You fit bearings, guides and guards, run the unit dry and write down anything that needs rework. The shop works 06:00-14:30 from Monday to Friday with a paid thirty minute break.
Who's a fit?
Trade certificate as a locksmith, fitter or machinist
At least two years on assembly or steel structure work
Reading an assembly drawing and a parts list
Confident with a drill, a grinder, a tap set and a torque wrench
Welding ticket an advantage, the course is paid
Basic Czech or English for the drawing notes and safety signs

Work environment
A heated assembly hall with an overhead crane on every bay, a marking table and a separate grinding booth with extraction. Goggles, gloves, ear protection and safety shoes are mandatory and issued by the employer.
