Cleaning Team Leader

You open the site, hand out keys, machines and the day's chemicals, and split the floors between your people. You clean alongside them for part of the shift, then check the rooms against the specification, sign the site register and photograph anything the client should see. Consumables are ordered by you against a monthly budget, and you train every new starter on dilution, colour coding and the scrubber dryer. Hours are 05:00-09:00 and 17:00-20:00 on weekdays, with a Saturday round every third week.

A team leader who keeps a clinic contract clean for a year takes on a second site and the grade above it, and the contractor pays the HACCP and infection control courses.

Offices and clinic corridors outside patient hours, with a locked store for chemicals and a changing room on each site. Gloves, closed shoes, goggles for dilution and a mask where needed are supplied.
