Painter and Decorator

You prepare and finish surfaces: taping and masking, filling cracks, one or two coats of filler, sanding by machine with a dust extractor, priming, then two coats by roller and brush. On hotel jobs you also spray doors and radiators in the site booth and repair plasterboard joints before painting. You measure your own square metres for the daily sheet, keep the tins and tools accounted for, and leave the room swept and covers lifted. Work is 07:00-15:30, Monday to Friday, with a paid Saturday when a floor has to be handed over.

Finished trade school as a painter, or three years on finishing sites

Clean filler and sanding work on a wall that will take a light coat

Confident with a roller, brush and an airless or cup gun

Able to work from a scaffold tower and a ladder at ceiling height

Willing to travel to sites across Kvarner in the company van

A painter who takes over the measuring and the material order becomes the crew leader on hotel jobs, and the firm pays the decorative and spray finishing course in Zagreb.

Enclosed renovation sites with power, light and heating in winter, sanding machines connected to a vacuum, and a scaffold tower instead of stacked furniture. Mask, glasses, gloves and safety shoes are supplied.
