Forklift Driver

You drive a counterbalance forklift on the ramp and a reach truck in the racking up to seven metres. Air freight moves to a clock: you unload the trailer, weigh and label the pallet, put it away to the location the terminal gives you, and stage the outbound pallets in flight order. Damaged goods go to the claims bay with a photograph. Before the shift you fill in the daily check card: forks, chains, brakes, horn, battery water. Shifts are 07:00-15:00 and 13:00-21:00, rotating weekly, and you report to the yard leader.

Valid forklift licence, counterbalance and ideally reach truck

At least one year of driving in a warehouse or on a ramp

Confident placing a pallet at seven metres without damage

Weighing and labelling air freight to the paperwork, with no shortcut

Comfortable with a terminal or scanner for stock moves

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly and to take the odd Sunday flight

Basic English for air waybills and pallet labels

Net salary from 1010 up to 1110 EUR per month

Permanent contract after a six month trial

Supplement for the afternoon shift and a higher hourly rate on a Sunday flight

Licence renewal and the reach truck module paid by the employer

Hot meal on every shift, cooked in the company canteen

Travel allowance paid per kilometre for drivers who come by car

Work clothing, high visibility vest, gloves and safety shoes

Drivers who put in a year on the transfer bay take the dangerous goods and the aviation security training, both paid by the employer. The yard leader place is filled from there.

A transfer bay with a canopy over the ramp, so a pallet is never loaded in the rain, and a battery charging room with its own extraction. Vest, gloves, a winter jacket and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
