CNC Lathe Operator

You run two CNC lathes on series of 50 to 500 pieces in steel, brass and stainless. Your day is loading the bar or the blank, starting the proven programme, measuring the first piece against the drawing with a caliper, micrometer and thread gauge, and correcting the tool offset when a diameter drifts. You change worn inserts, keep the coolant level and concentration right, log the quantity per order, and write a short handover note for the next shift. Simple setups on a repeat job you do yourself, a new part is set by the setter with you.

Finished trade school as a machinist, turner or toolmaker

At least one year on a CNC lathe, Fanuc or Siemens control

Reading a technical drawing, tolerances and surface marks

Confident with a caliper, micrometer and thread gauge

Able to edit a tool offset and restart a programme safely

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly

Basic English for machine menus and tool catalogues

Net salary from 1091 up to 1200 EUR per month

Three month trial, then a permanent contract

Paid shift supplement on the afternoon shift

Hot meal and coffee in the break, paid by the employer

Company transport from Karlovac, Duga Resa and Ozalj

Paid training on the control and on the measuring room equipment

Work clothing, safety shoes, glasses and tools provided

An operator who takes over setups moves to setter within a year, and from there to programming on Fusion or Mastercam. The shop pays the programming course at the Karlovac trade centre and the measuring course for its own inspectors.

A bright hall with local extraction at each machine, marked walkways, a chip conveyor and a separate air conditioned measuring room. Ear protection, glasses, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
