MIG/MAG Welder

You weld structural steel and stainless parts from 3 to 12 mm with MIG/MAG in the flat and horizontal positions, and take vertical seams once the test is passed. The day covers reading the drawing and the weld symbol, tacking the assembly on the jig, checking squareness with a square and a tape, running the seam at the set current and gas flow, then grinding and cleaning it for the visual check. You keep the torch, the liner and the earth clamp in order, and mark every finished item with its job number for the foreman. The shop works one shift, 07:00-15:00.

Trade school in welding or three years of MIG/MAG practice

Reading fabrication drawings and weld symbols

Setting the current, the wire speed and the gas flow yourself

Grinding, tacking and fitting on a jig

Willing to sit the certification test in the first month

Steady work in a closed shop with local fume extraction

Basic English for procedure sheets and machine settings

Net salary from 1106 up to 1215 EUR per month

Registration in the heavy work insurance category from the first day

A welder who passes the vertical and overhead tests takes the shipyard jobs that pay more, and the shop trains its own fitters for the assembly benches.

A fabrication hall with local fume extraction at each bench, screens between the bays and an outdoor area for the large frames. Helmet, leather apron, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
