Warehouse Operative

You pick orders from the racking with a voice terminal and a hand pallet truck, build the pallet in the sequence the screen gives, and wrap it before it goes to the dispatch lane. The day also covers receiving goods against the delivery note, putting stock away in its location, counting one section during the weekly stock check, and keeping the aisle clear of empty pallets and film. Volumes rise before the weekend, so the picking rate is set per hour and posted on the board. You report to the shift leader and work 06:00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00 in a weekly rotation.

Pickers who keep their accuracy move to receiving or onto a forklift, and the company pays for the operator licence course for anyone who asks after the first year.

A dry warehouse at ambient temperature with wide aisles, marked pedestrian routes and a heated break room. Safety shoes, gloves and a high visibility vest are supplied, and the picking trolleys are height adjustable.
