Furniture Cabinetmaker
Wood & Furniture Production · Nantes, France
JB-548 · Basic (A2) · 3 openings
A joinery workshop in Saint-Herblain, west of Nantes, builds fitted furniture for shops and hotels and is taking on experienced cabinetmakers. Melamine, oak veneer and solid oak, a permanent contract and a four day week.
About role
You take a fit out drawing and build the piece from the panel up: cutting on the beam saw, edge banding, drilling to the hardware template, then assembly with dowels, biscuits and hinges. Solid oak fronts are faced, thicknessed and hand sanded before finishing. You check every carcase for square and against the diagonal before it is wrapped, and you write the parts list for the fitter who installs it on site. The workshop runs 07:00-16:30 Monday to Thursday, and you answer to the workshop manager.
