Warehouse Team Lead

You plan the day for nine pickers: splitting the wave into routes, setting the priority for late orders and stepping onto the floor yourself when the queue at goods in grows. You book receipts and stock corrections in the warehouse system, keep the count of the daily cycle inventory and sign the handover to the transport company. Damage, short deliveries and a wrong barcode come to you before they reach the customer. Two shifts run 05:30-14:00 and 13:30-22:00 with a weekly change, and Saturday mornings are voluntary and paid at a supplement.

Training in warehouse logistics, or four years in a warehouse

At least one year leading a small group

Confident with a scanner, a warehouse system and stock counts

Valid forklift licence for a reach truck and a counterbalance

Willing to rotate two shifts and cover a late finish

Good German or English for bookings, drivers and customers

Calm with a queue at goods in and a short delivery

Net salary from 2153 up to 2370 EUR per month

Permanent contract with a team lead allowance

Both warehouse managers at this site started as team leads on the picking floor. The company pays the Logistikmeister qualification at the IHK in Dortmund and a course in labour law basics.

A high bay hall with wide aisles, pick to light on the fast movers, a heated goods in dock and a break room above the office. Safety shoes, high visibility vest and gloves are provided and worn on the floor.
