Truck Driver (CE)

You drive an articulated or a drawbar unit on local distribution, load pallets yourself with a pallet truck and serve between ten and eighteen customers a day. The duty covers the departure check, securing the load with straps and edge protectors, keeping the delivery notes in order and watching your driving and rest times on the card. The tour starts 05:30 at the ramp and ends between 15:00 and 16:30 back at the yard. The planner sets the order of drops and you report a delay early, not at the end.

CE licence with code 95 valid in the EU

Driver card and at least two years on a 40 tonne unit

Practice with load securing and a pallet truck

Careful reversing to a narrow yard ramp in the city

Functional German or English for delivery notes and customers

Forklift licence is an advantage, the company can pay for it

Clean record on driving and rest times

Net salary from 2061 up to 2270 EUR per month

Permanent contract and a fixed vehicle, not a pool truck

Paid code 95 refresher and the ADR course if you want it

Drivers who take the ADR course move to the tanker fleet, where the monthly figure is around 400 EUR higher. The haulier also trains its own planners, and two of the three came off the road.

Newer units with automatic gearboxes, air conditioning and a camera on the trailer, plus a yard with a driver room, showers and a heated break area. High visibility jacket, gloves and safety shoes are supplied.
