Furniture Assembler and Joiner

You work from the cutting list and the assembly drawing: you edge band and drill the panels on the boring machine, dowel and glue the carcass, square it in the press, and fit hinges, runners and handles. You check every diagonal and every gap with a square and a caliper before the unit goes to packing, and you sand and touch up a chipped edge yourself. Solid wood fronts are planed, jointed and finished by hand. One day shift, 07:00 to 15:30, and installation trips to the site are voluntary and paid separately.

Trade school as a joiner, cabinetmaker or wood technician

At least two years at an assembly bench in furniture production

Reading a cutting list and an assembly drawing

Circular saw, edge bander, boring machine and hand router

Square, tape and caliper used without being told

One day shift, five days a week

Basic English for the fittings catalogues

Net salary from 773 up to 850 EUR per month

Permanent contract direct with the workshop, three month trial

A joiner who can set out a kitchen from the client drawing moves to the measuring and installation team, and the workshop pays for the course on the panel saw and the small edge bander.

Dust extraction sits at every machine in a dry hall, the spray booth is separate, and each joiner has a bench with good overhead light. Ear defenders, glasses, gloves and safety shoes are supplied and replaced on request.
