Warehouse Loader

You unload containers by hand and by pallet truck, check the carton count against the packing list, and put the goods away in the racking position the label gives. On the outbound side you pick orders from the sheet, wrap the pallet, weigh it and stage it in the loading lane with its papers. Twice a week you count a section of racking and report any gap to the storekeeper. The warehouse runs 08:00-17:00 with an hour for lunch, and one Saturday morning in three when a vessel is discharged.

Loaders who pass the forklift course move to the reach truck and to the goods in desk, and the storekeeper seat is filled from the floor, never from outside.

A dry hall with marked pedestrian lanes, mirrors at the aisle ends and a separate charging room for the trucks. High visibility vest, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and supplied by the employer.
