Production Operator

You start the line at the beginning of the shift, mind two moulding machines, take out and trim the parts and place them in the tray to the packing plan. Every hour you take a sample, measure it against the control plan and enter the result. Deviations stop the line and go to the production leader. At the end of the shift you write a handover note for the next operator. Shifts are 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 with a weekly rotation.

Completed compulsory schooling, no industrial certificate required

Some experience of production, packing or assembly work

Able to measure with a caliper and read a control plan

Careful record keeping and willingness to stop the line on a deviation

Manual dexterity for trimming small components

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly

Basic English for machine menus and work instructions

Operators who learn tool changing and start up of the moulding machines become setters, and the plant recruits its shift leaders from the operators who know the whole line.

A clean and dry production hall at about 22 degrees with enclosed machines, local extraction and a separate measuring room. Safety glasses, safety shoes and ear protection at the machines are supplied by the employer.
