CNC Machine Operator

You set the machine against the operation sheet, load the fixture, call up the programme and run the first article. Every first piece is measured with a caliper, a micrometer and a height gauge against the drawing tolerance before the series is released. During the run you change inserts on wear, correct tool offsets and log scrap in the production system. Two shifts run 06:00 to 14:30 and 14:30 to 23:00 with a weekly rotation, and you report to the production leader.

Upper secondary industrial programme or an equal machining background

At least two years on CNC mills or lathes in production

Reading a technical drawing with tolerances and surface marks

Confident with caliper, micrometer and gauge blocks

Able to make offset corrections on Fanuc or Siemens controls

Willing to rotate two shifts weekly

Basic English for control menus and tool catalogues

Net salary from 2386 up to 2625 EUR per month

Permanent contract under the engineering collective agreement

Operators who learn to edit programmes at the control move to setting work and then to the programming office, which the shop staffs from its own machine floor.

A clean machining hall at about 20 degrees with enclosed machines, coolant mist extraction and a separate measuring room. Safety glasses and safety shoes are mandatory and hearing protection is available at every cell.
