Concrete Worker

You clean and oil the mould, set the side shutters to the drawing, place the reinforcement cage and the spacers and fix the cast in items. Concrete is poured, vibrated and levelled, then the surface is floated and the piece is marked with the element number. After curing you strike the mould, check the edges and pass the piece to the yard crane. The shift is 06:00-14:30 from Monday to Friday.

Completed primary school, concrete or site experience an advantage

Able to read a simple element drawing with dimensions

Confident with a vibrator, a float, a level and a tape measure

Able to lift up to 25 kg and to work bent over the mould

Willing to start at 06:00 and to work in the casting hall in summer heat

Basic Lithuanian or English for drawings and work orders

Net salary from 1200 up to 1370 EUR per month

Workers who learn to set the mould to a drawing on their own become mould setters, which is the higher paid seat in the hall. The yard pays for the lifting sling and the crane signalling tickets.

A covered casting hall with overhead cranes, a batching plant feed and a wash down area, plus an open storage yard. A helmet, gloves, eye protection and safety boots are mandatory and are supplied.
