A hydraulic and pipework service company in the Silutes plentas industrial area of Klaipeda is hiring welders. The shop repairs and builds pipe assemblies, brackets and small tanks for port equipment and for fishing and cargo vessels. The contract is open ended.
About role
You cut and prepare pipe and sheet to the sketch, set the joint gap, tack the assembly and weld it in the position the job requires. Stainless and carbon steel are kept apart and each has its own brushes and grinding discs. Every finished assembly is pressure checked or visually inspected, marked with the order number and handed to the fitter. The shift runs 08:00-17:00 from Monday to Friday.
Who's a fit?
Welding certificate, or a trade school diploma with practice
At least two years of welding on pipe and sheet
Able to work in the vertical and the overhead position
Care with stainless steel and with separate tooling for it
Confident with a grinder, a pipe cutter and a tape measure
Basic Lithuanian, Russian or English for sketches and job orders

Promotion terms
Welders who add a stainless and an orbital certificate move to the pipe assembly bench for food and fuel lines, which is paid at a higher grade. Experienced welders also join the mobile repair crew for port work.
Work environment
A heated workshop with separate bays for stainless and carbon steel, fume extraction at every bench and a hoist for heavy assemblies. A welding helmet, jacket, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied.
