CNC Machine Operator

You load the profile into the clamp, call up the programme, run the first piece and measure it with a caliper and a micrometer against the drawing. Tool wear is checked at the start of every batch and worn inserts are changed and logged. Finished parts are deburred, marked with the order number and stacked on the transport rack. The shift is 14:00-22:00 from Monday to Friday and you report to the shift foreman.

Vocational certificate in metalworking or equivalent practice

At least one year on a three axis milling or cutting machine

Able to read a technical drawing and to hold a tolerance of two tenths

Confident use of a caliper, a micrometer and a height gauge

Willing to work the afternoon shift on a permanent basis

Basic Lithuanian or English for drawings and machine messages

Net salary from 1200 up to 1370 EUR per month

Open ended contract with social insurance from the first day

Afternoon shift supplement paid separately each month

Paid training on the shop's own machines during the first weeks

Hot meal during the shift and free coffee

Twenty working days of paid annual leave

Operators who learn to set the machine and to edit the programme move up to setter, which is the best paid seat on the shop floor. The shop pays for the measuring and setting course at a Kaunas technical school.

A heated machine shop with enclosed cutting machines, chip extraction and a separate measuring room kept at a stable temperature. Safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
