A forwarding warehouse in the Rimkai industrial district of Klaipeda, close to the port access road, is hiring forklift drivers. The site loads and unloads containers and trailers for customers in the Baltic states and Scandinavia. Three shifts rotate and the contract is open ended.
About role
You unload containers and curtain siders with a counterbalance truck, check the pallet count against the transport document and stage the goods in the marked receipt area. Pallets are then put away in racking up to seven metres with a reach truck. Before each shift you complete the truck check sheet, test the horn and the brake and report any fault to the maintenance team. Shifts are 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00 on a weekly rotation.
Who's a fit?
Valid forklift operator licence, or readiness to take the paid course
At least one season of practice on a counterbalance or reach truck
Confident reading of transport documents and pallet labels
Willing to rotate morning, afternoon and night shifts
Attention to load stability and to pedestrian lanes in the hall
Basic Lithuanian, Russian or English for the shift handover

Promotion terms
Drivers who master the reach truck move to high bay put away and to loading planning, which is paid at a higher grade. Long serving drivers train new arrivals and receive an instructor supplement.
Work environment
A heated hall with four loading docks, marked pedestrian lanes and a battery charging room with extraction. A helmet in the dock area, a high visibility vest, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied.
