Harvest Worker
Agriculture — Bad Kreuznach, Germany
P-296 · Basic (A2) · 5 openings
Outdoor field work on a farm just outside Bad Kreuznach, picking and packing the season's crop. Steady hours, pay above the regional average, and a room sorted before you arrive.
About role
You will spend most of the day on your feet in the fields, harvesting whatever is in season, usually asparagus and strawberries in spring, then apples and grapes through late summer and autumn. The work means bending, cutting with a harvest knife, filling crates and loading them onto the trailer. Some days you sort and pack produce at the grading table in the packing shed instead of picking. Shifts typically run from 6am to about 2pm, sometimes earlier in the heat of summer to beat the midday sun. You move with the crew row by row and keep pace so the full crates reach cold storage quickly. No prior farming experience is needed; the foreman shows you the technique in the first day or two.
Who's a fit?
Physically fit and able to stand, bend and lift for a full shift
Comfortable working outdoors in heat, rain and early mornings
Willing to learn the picking and cutting technique quickly
Reliable and on time, the crew depends on a steady pace
Basic English or German is enough to follow instructions
Benefits
Shared accommodation on or near the farm, sorted before you arrive
Transport from the housing to the fields each morning
Help with the paperwork and your move to Germany
Statutory health insurance from your first working day
Promotion terms
Start at 2130 euro net per month. Workers who learn the cuts, keep up the daily quota and show up reliably move up to crew lead, where pay rises to 2450 euro net. Stay across a full season and the farm tends to bring the same hands back the next year, often straight onto the higher rate.
Work environment
A family farm with open fields and a packing shed, a short ride from the town of Bad Kreuznach in the Nahe wine region. You work outside in all weather, so warm layers for spring mornings and sun cover for summer both matter. The crew is mixed and most picking happens side by side, so you are rarely working alone.
