Food Packing Operative

You stand at the sorting belt and take out fruit with pressure marks, rot or the wrong calibre, then fill trays, nets or cartons to the weight the line display shows. You change the film roll and the label roll on the flow wrapper, check that the date code prints cleanly and set aside any pack that is under weight. At the end of the shift you clean the belt and the tables to the hygiene plan. Shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 in a hall kept at about 8 degrees.

Completed schooling, no trade qualification needed

Able to stand at a moving belt for a full shift

Comfortable working in a hall kept at about 8 degrees

Quick eye for pressure marks, mould and wrong calibre

Willing to rotate two shifts and to work Saturdays in peak weeks

Basic German or English for the hygiene rules and the line display

Net salary from 1870 up to 2057 EUR per month

Seasonal contract with full social insurance for the whole term

Operatives who learn the flow wrapper and the checkweigher are kept on for the following season as line operators, a role paid above the packing grade.

A chilled packing hall at about 8 degrees with sorting belts, two flow wrappers and a checkweigher. Thermal jacket, gloves, hairnet and non slip safety shoes are mandatory and supplied.
