Furniture Carpenter
Wood & Furniture Production — Larissa, Greece
P-283 · Functional (B1) · 3 openings
A wood and furniture workshop just outside Larissa needs a carpenter who can read a cutting list and build from it. Steady orders, real benches, and pay that sits above the regional average.
About role
You will build kitchen units, wardrobes, and built-in cabinets from MDF, melamine board, and solid pine. A normal day runs from cutting panels on the beam saw and edge bander, through drilling for hinges and shelf pins, to dry-fitting carcasses before they go to assembly. You read the cutting list and the technical drawing, then check your own dimensions before the panels leave your bench. Some weeks you will be in the workshop the whole time; other weeks you go out to a flat or office in Larissa to fit the units on site. The shift is Monday to Friday, roughly 07:30 to 16:00, with the occasional Saturday morning when an installation deadline is tight. You work alongside two or three other carpenters and report to the workshop foreman.
Who's a fit?
At least 2 years building furniture or cabinetry in a workshop
Confident on the beam saw, edge bander, router, and basic CNC if available
Can read a cutting list and a technical drawing and work to the millimetre
Knows how to handle melamine, MDF, and solid wood without chipping edges
Functional English (B1) for the workshop instructions and safety rules
Clean, organised, and steady with measurements
Benefits
Help with relocation and the paperwork to work in Greece
Shared accommodation sorted for the first months, close to the workshop
Transport to the workshop and to fitting jobs around Larissa
Public health insurance through the standard Greek registration
Promotion terms
You start at 1150 euro net a month. Once you show you can run a job from the cutting list to a clean install without rework, the foreman moves you up toward 1330 euro net. Carpenters who take on the harder fit-outs and help train the newer hands get there inside the first year.
Work environment
The workshop is a covered industrial unit with dust extraction on the machines and good lighting over the benches. It gets loud near the saw and the air carries sawdust, so ear protection and a mask are part of the day. Summers in Larissa are hot, so the unit runs fans and the heavy cutting is scheduled for the cooler morning hours.
