Steady welding work in the heart of Brescia's metalworking belt. A skilled MIG/MAG welder is wanted now, with a clear move up to higher pay once the employer sees your seams hold.
About role
You will run MIG and MAG torches on carbon steel and structural sections, mostly 3 to 12 mm plate, building frames and welded assemblies for machinery and construction parts. The day starts by reading the work order and the drawing, checking the joint prep, then setting your wire feed and gas flow on the welder before you strike an arc. Most work sits in the flat and horizontal position, with some vertical-up passes on heavier sections. You grind, tack, weld, then check your own beads for undercut and porosity before the welds go to the inspector. The shop runs two shifts, 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, rotating week by week, Monday to Friday. Expect to handle your own consumables, swap wire spools, and keep your bay tidy.
Who's a fit?
At least 2 years on MIG/MAG welding of steel
Able to read basic technical drawings and weld symbols
Comfortable welding in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions
Know how to set wire speed, voltage and gas flow yourself
Can use an angle grinder for prep and clean-up
A welding certificate (UNI EN ISO 9606-1) is a plus, not a must
Benefits
Relocation handled and paid by the employer, including travel to Brescia
Shared accommodation near the plant, first two months covered
Hot meal voucher for every shift worked
Shuttle from the housing to the shop on early starts

Promotion terms
You start at 2010 EUR net per month. After a trial period of three to six months, once your weld quality is steady and you pass an internal qualification, the rate moves to 2310 EUR net. Welders who take on harder positional work or coach newer arrivals are first in line for that raise.
Work environment
The site is a mid-sized fabrication shop on an industrial estate just outside Brescia, with ten welding bays and overhead cranes for moving heavier assemblies. It gets warm near the booths in summer, so the building has extraction and forced ventilation, and the employer supplies the welding mask, gloves and FR jacket. Hearing protection and steel-toe boots are required on the floor.
