Cleaner / Cleaning Operative

You will clean offices, hallways, stairwells and sanitary rooms on a fixed route the employer assigns each shift. The day means emptying bins, wiping desks and surfaces, mopping floors and refilling soap and paper in the washrooms. Larger areas like lobbies and corridors are done with a push scrubber or a single-disc machine once you are shown how. Shifts are usually early morning before the offices fill up, or late afternoon after staff leave, roughly 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm. Some sites are commercial buildings, others are retail units and a few smaller production halls. You log what you finish on a simple checklist so the supervisor knows each floor is covered.

Able to be on your feet for most of an 8 hour shift

You start at 1130 EUR net per month. Once you know the routes and handle the machines without supervision, pay moves up toward 1310 EUR net, usually within the first year. Reliable people who can show a new starter the ropes are the first ones the employer considers for team lead spots.

Most of the work is indoors in heated buildings, though sanitary rooms and stairwells can get cold and damp. You work alone on your assigned floor or in a small crew of two or three on the bigger sites. Expect bending, lifting bags of waste and pushing a cleaning trolley between rooms.
