Furniture Carpenter

You spend the day on solid wood, plywood and melamine board, cutting parts on the panel saw and squaring edges on the edgebander. Most of the work is case goods and built-in furniture: wardrobes, kitchen carcasses, shelving and doors, either standard runs or one-off pieces to a drawing. You drill and dowel, fit hinges and drawer runners, sand by hand and with the orbital, then assemble and check every joint with a square before it leaves the bench. Some weeks you go out with the fitting crew to install in flats and offices around Međimurje. Shifts are mostly first shift, 7 to 15 Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday morning when an order is tight.

You start at 1280 EUR net. Once you handle the machines on your own and your assembly passes without rework, pay moves up toward 1480 EUR net, usually inside the first year. Lead the fitting crew and you sit at the top of that range.

The workshop is a heated hall with proper extraction on the saws and sanders, so the dust stays down. It is loud near the machines and you are on your feet all day, lifting boards and finished carcasses. Boots, ear protection and a dust mask are provided and the foreman is on the floor, not in an office.
