About role
You take the measurements from the drawing or from the site sheet, cut profile and sheet on the band saw and the plasma table, and prepare the edges for welding. Assembly is done on the bench with clamps and a square, then tacked, welded and dressed. You drill and tap the fixing points, fit the hinges and the locks, and check the finished piece for square and for free movement before it goes to the paint shop. Site fitting days are planned in advance and a second fabricator always goes along. The workshop works 07:00-15:00, Monday to Friday.
