You strip the small parts off the filling line, foam the machines and the floors with the dosing lance, leave the chemical to work for the minutes the card states, and rinse from the top down. Concentration is measured with a test strip, never by eye, and every room is signed off on the sanitation sheet with the time and your name. Once a week you take the swabs the laboratory asks for and clean the drains and the ceiling above the line. The shift runs 22:00-06:00 from Sunday to Friday, and you report to the hygiene supervisor.

Finished primary school, cleaning experience is welcome but not needed

The dairy takes its hygiene team leaders from the shift, and a worker who learns the chemical dosing and the swab plan can move to the laboratory support post. The courses are paid by the plant.

Tiled wet rooms at sixteen degrees, water and foam through the whole shift, and a drying room with lockers next to the changing area. The waterproof suit, boots, chemical gloves and goggles are issued and replaced free.
