Sewing Machine Operator

You sew one operation on a piece rate line: sleeves, side seams, collars or hems, depending on the model in production. The day starts at 07:30, the technologist hands out the model sample and the seam tolerances, and you check your own first ten pieces against it. You keep the thread tension right, change needles yourself, clean the machine at the end of the shift, and pass rejects back to the group leader instead of reworking them alone. Saturdays are worked only in a despatch week and paid at the overtime rate.

Primary school finished, sewing course is a plus

Six months at an industrial sewing machine

Able to hold one operation at line speed

One day shift, 07:30 to 16:00, five days a week

Enough Bulgarian or English to follow the model instructions

Net salary from 605 up to 665 EUR per month

Permanent contract once the three month trial is over

No night work and no Sunday work

Holding the norm on three operations moves a seamstress to universal operator on a higher grade. The workshop trains its own group leaders and quality controllers rather than hiring them from outside.

A single storey hall with daylight on both sides, individual task lighting at every machine and extraction over the ironing table. Needle guards, thimbles and ear plugs are supplied, and the sewing chairs are height adjustable.
