Vegetable Packing Worker

You take produce off the washing line, sort out damaged and undersized pieces by the quality card and fill the tray or the net to the target weight. Trays are sealed, coded with the date and stacked on the pallet by customer. Every half hour you weigh a sample and record it, and any batch outside tolerance is stopped and reported. The shift is 06:00-14:30 or 14:30-23:00 on a weekly rotation.

No formal schooling required, packing experience welcome

Valid food handling health certificate, the medical check is paid

Able to stand through the shift and to lift crates up to 15 kg

Willing to work at about ten degrees in the packing hall

Steady hands and accurate weighing to the target

Basic Lithuanian or English for the quality card and hygiene rules

Net salary from 937 up to 1070 EUR per month

Seasonal contract from October to the end of March with full insurance

Company bus from Kaunas to the packing house on every shift

Hot meal in the canteen on every shift

Afternoon shift supplement paid separately

Paid health certificate and the yearly medical check

Warm work clothing, gloves and non slip boots provided

Packers who learn the weighing checks and the quality card take the line control post, which is paid at a higher rate. Seasonal workers who return for a second season are offered an open ended contract.

A packing hall held at about ten degrees with washing and grading lines, height adjustable tables and a separate chilled store. Warm clothing, gloves, a cap and non slip boots are mandatory and are supplied.
