Agricultural Field Worker

You will plant, weed, and harvest vegetables and berries across open fields and a few polytunnels. Days start around 6am to beat the midday heat, with a long break in the afternoon during the hottest weeks. Expect to use hoes, hand pruners, and harvest crates, and to load produce onto trailers and into the cold store. A few times a week you will help with irrigation lines and sorting at the packing shed. The crew works in teams of six to eight, and the foreman sets the row targets each morning.

Able to do physical work outdoors in heat, rain, and cold

Everyone starts as a field worker at 810 EUR net per month. Workers who learn the irrigation and packing-shed jobs and show up reliably move up to 930 EUR net within a season or two. The foreman keeps an eye on who picks things up fast, and crew leaders are chosen from people already on the team.

The fields sit on flat land along the river, with hills in the background and decent shade near the packing shed. Summers get hot and dusty, and there are mosquitoes near the irrigation channels, so the employer hands out water, hats, and gloves. Work is outdoors in all weather apart from heavy storms, when the crew moves to sorting under cover.
