Warehouse Operative

You unload trucks at the dock, check the goods against the delivery note, and move them onto the racks with a pallet jack. Orders come down on a paper pick list, so you walk the aisles, pull the right boxes, and stack them clean on a pallet for dispatch. Some days you wrap pallets in stretch film and label them, other days you sweep the bays and break down empty cardboard. Boxes run from light cartons up to sacks around 25 kg, so there is real lifting and bending through the shift. Work is split into two shifts, roughly 6 to 14 and 14 to 22, with the rota set a week ahead. A supervisor walks you through the layout and the scanner in your first days, so you are not thrown in cold.

You start at 820 EUR net while you learn the racks and the routine. Once you handle a section on your own and pick up the pallet jack confidently, pay moves toward 940 EUR net. Steady hands who learn the forklift become first in line for the better shifts.

The site is a closed warehouse with loading bays, so you work indoors out of the rain but it runs cool in winter and warm in summer. Floors are concrete, forklifts move through marked lanes, and high-vis vests are worn at all times. It is busy but orderly, with clear walkways and a supervisor on every shift.
