Construction Worker / Bricklayer

You will lay blocks and bricks for walls, partitions and facades, working from the foundation up floor by floor. Most days start around 7am and run to mid-afternoon, with a longer break when the sun is highest. You mix mortar, set courses level with a line and spirit level, and cut blocks to size with an angle grinder or hand tools. Expect to move materials by hand and by wheelbarrow, and to work off scaffolding once the walls go past head height. A foreman checks each section before the next one goes up, so neatness and a straight line matter. The pace is real construction pace: physical, outdoors, and weather dependent.

Experience laying brick or block on real sites

Can read a simple drawing and work to a marked line

You start at 760 EUR net per month. As your work gets faster and cleaner and the foreman trusts you with full wall sections on your own, pay climbs toward 880 EUR net. Solid bricklayers who stay through a full season are the first ones called back and put forward for lead-hand roles.

The site is an open residential plot with several buildings at different stages, so there is dust, noise and machinery moving around all day. Helmet, boots and a high visibility vest are required and handed out before you start. Summers in Mostar get hot, so most of the heavy lifting is done in the cooler morning hours.
