Hotel Housekeeper

You take the room list at the start of the shift and work it in order, stripping and remaking the beds, cleaning the bathroom, restocking the amenities and checking the minibar. A departure room gets the full clean including under the bed and behind the door, and a stay room gets the short clean. Anything broken, missing or left behind is reported to the floor supervisor the same hour. A shift is fourteen to sixteen rooms and runs 07:00-15:00.

Finished primary school, no previous hotel work required

Housekeepers who finish a full season are offered the winter contract and a place on the floor supervisor course, which carries a fixed monthly supplement.

Guest rooms and corridors, with repeated bending, bed making and a trolley pushed along the floor. Gloves, non slip shoes and a laundered uniform are supplied, and chemicals are pre diluted.
