A construction firm building apartment blocks in the Laus district of Banja Luka is hiring bricklayers for structural and partition walls. Work runs from March to December on sites inside the city, with winter months spent on indoor finishing. Permanent contract with full insurance.
About role
You set out the wall from the marked line, lay the first course in mortar, check level and plumb, and carry the wall up in blocks or brick to the height on the drawing. Openings are formed with lintels set to the schedule and the reinforcement in the bed joints is placed where the drawing shows it. Scaffold is raised with the crew and checked before use, and the work area is cleared at the end of each day. The shift is 07:00-15:30, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays paid separately.
Who's a fit?
Trade school as a bricklayer or a completed trade course
At least three years of wall work on building sites
Level, plumb line and laser level used without supervision
Mixing mortar and working from a raised scaffold
Reading a floor plan with wall thickness and opening sizes
Willingness to work outdoors from March to December

Promotion terms
A bricklayer who sets out walls from the drawing without help becomes a gang leader with four to six workers, and the firm trains its own site foremen.
Work environment
An open site in all weather from March to December, with scaffold work above the second floor and heavy lifting of blocks. A helmet, harness, gloves and safety shoes are compulsory and supplied.
