A workshop in the Blazuj industrial zone in Sarajevo makes doors, railings, gates and steel stairs for building sites across the canton and is hiring fabricators. The bench work is cutting, drilling, bending and assembly, with welding done by the welding crew. One day shift, permanent contract.
About role
You take the cutting list, mark the profile, cut it on the band saw and drill the holes against the jig. Bending is on the press brake to the angle written on the card, and the assembly is squared on the bench before it goes to the welders. After welding you grind the joints, fit the hinges and the lock, and check that the leaf swings clean in the frame. Finished work is primed and listed for the site delivery. The shift is 07:00-15:30, Monday to Friday.
Who's a fit?
Trade school as a fabricator or an equal course
At least two years on the bench in a metal workshop
Reading a shop drawing and a cutting list
Band saw, drill press and press brake handling
Grinder work and fitting hinges, locks and handles
Accurate measuring and squaring before assembly

Promotion terms
A fabricator who passes the welding certificate moves to the welding crew at a higher grade, and the workshop picks its site fitters from the bench.
Work environment
A workshop with concrete floors, open doors in summer and gas heaters in winter, with grinding noise and metal dust near the benches. Eye protection, gloves and safety shoes are worn all day.
