A workshop in the Vogosca industrial zone in Sarajevo builds stainless tanks and pipework for food and pharmaceutical plants and needs welders who also fit. Work is TIG on stainless up to 6 mm and MAG on carbon steel supports. One day shift, permanent contract.
About role
You cut and prepare the pipe, set the root gap, purge with argon and weld the root and the cap on the rotator. Fitting work means setting flanges square, measuring the run against the isometric and correcting a support before it is welded solid. Every seam is marked with your stamp and listed on the weld map, and the marked joints are checked by dye penetrant. Work is one shift, 07:00-15:30, with occasional site assembly days.
Who's a fit?
Trade school in welding and a valid certificate for TIG on stainless
At least three years on stainless pipework or tanks
Reading an isometric drawing and a weld map
Argon purging discipline and clean root work
Fitting skills: square, level, measuring a pipe run
Driving licence B for the occasional site assembly day

Promotion terms
A welder who takes the orbital equipment and the weld documentation becomes the lead on the pharmaceutical orders, which is the top grade in the workshop.
Work environment
A clean workshop kept separate from carbon steel work, with extraction over the benches and a small bright assembly area for stainless. Helmet, gloves, safety shoes and eye protection are worn.
