Order Picker

You pick consignments by voice or by scanner, place them on the build station and assemble the air cargo pallet so the contour fits the aircraft hold. You weigh each unit, record the figure in the handling system, fit the net and the straps and mark the dangerous goods labels where the paperwork calls for them. You check every piece for damage before it is built in and set aside anything that does not match the air waybill. Shifts run 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-06:00.

Completed schooling, no trade qualification needed

Pickers who build pallets to contour without rework move to the build up station for wide body aircraft or to the dangerous goods desk, both paid a grade higher.

An export hall with roller decks, build stations, scales at every lane and open doors to the apron, so it is cold in winter. Safety shoes, vest, gloves, ear protection and a winter jacket are supplied.
