A steel fabrication shop in the Sobovica zone in Kragujevac is taking on MIG/MAG welders for its structural line. The shop builds hall frames, platforms and conveyor supports for customers in Serbia and Hungary. A permanent contract follows a paid weld test.
About role
You weld steel profiles and plate on jigs, following the drawing and the weld symbol given for each joint. The shift starts with a check of the wire feed, the gas flow and the earth clamp, then comes tacking, the fill passes and grinding where the seam will be painted. You measure the frame with a tape and a square before it leaves the jig, stamp your own work and report porosity or undercut to the welding foreman. Two shifts run 07:00-15:00 and 15:00-23:00 with a weekly rotation.
Who's a fit?
Trade school in welding or metalwork, or equal practice
At least two years of MIG/MAG on steel above 3 mm
Reading a fabrication drawing and weld symbols
Steady with an angle grinder, a square and a tape
Passing the shop weld test on a fillet and a butt joint
Willing to rotate two shifts
Basic English for machine settings and safety labels

Promotion terms
Welders who pass the certification move to the structural team and to work that carries a weld log. Foremen on this line are chosen from among the certified welders.
Work environment
A covered hall with a fume extraction arm at every booth, welding screens between the bays and a separate grinding corner with extraction. Mask, apron, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory.
