CO2 Welder

You weld steel profiles and plate from 3 mm upward in the CO2 process on a jig, following the drawing and the weld symbol set for each joint. The shift starts with a check of the wire feed, the gas flow and the earth clamp, then comes tacking the assembly, the fill passes and grinding the seam where paint follows. Before the frame leaves the jig you measure it with a tape and a square, mark your own work and report porosity or undercut to the welding foreman. Two shifts run 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 with a weekly change.

Welding certificate for the CO2 process, or a trade school in metalwork

At least two years of welding steel above 3 mm

Reading a fabrication drawing and weld symbols

Confident with an angle grinder, a square and a measuring tape

Willing to change between two shifts every week

Basic English for the machine menus and the safety labels

Net salary from 1055 up to 1161 EUR per month

Welders who pass the shop test on fillet and butt joints move to the structural team and to certified work within a year. The employer pays the EN ISO 9606 examination at a testing house in Zilina.

A covered hall with a fume extraction arm at every booth, welding screens between the bays and a separate corner for grinding. Mask, leather apron, gloves and safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied by the employer.
